What to expect in your first martial arts class
A calm, practical guide to walking through the door, meeting your coach and starting well.
Your first class should feel clear, welcoming and appropriately paced. Arrive a little early, wear comfortable training clothes and let the coach know about any injuries or concerns.
A good beginner session starts with simple movement and introduces technique in small steps. You should understand the purpose of each drill and feel able to ask questions at any time.
Progress is not measured by how exhausted you are. It comes from learning good positions, moving with control and returning consistently. The free trial is designed to help you experience that process before choosing a membership.
